My most dreaded and hated house chore is tackling Mt. Saint Laundry. Luckily, my man has mercy upon me and usually tackles most of the laundry. This is one of his three chores, which include: laundry, taking out the garbage and mowing the grass, which of course is only a summer chore. So, hey I think he gets off pretty easy don’t you?
Though I have never thought about whether my husband is organized or not, he doesn’t have a lot to be organized with, I believe that he has a great system for laundry. He generally puts on a load when he gets up each morning and by the time he leaves for work has it drying. He also starts another load as soon as he comes in from work. I dare to say he does at least two loads at night.
Then, though he doesn’t fold or hang immediately, the only aspect of his laundry system that is a little weak, he does have a system for putting things away. He has a fold-clothes night and he and my son work together to fold and put away Mt. Saint Laundry.
My thoughts are, it gets done and on Monday’s we have the greatest looking towel / linen closet full to the brim with clean towels, now the rest of the week, leaves a little to be desired but hey you have to start somewhere.
Plus, he has a system, though it may seem flawed to outsiders it’s a system nonetheless so for that I give him kudos. So for anyone struggling with tackling their own Mount Saint Laundry I encourage you to develop a system, even it is one that has a flaw or two, you will get more done by having some type of system in place than without any at all.
