Organized Gift Wrapping

If you are not a wrap as you go gift buyer, then here are a few tips to make gift wrapping a little less overwhelming.

  • Set up a workspace.  I take over the card table the kids use for playing games during the Christmas season.  That way I can leave and come back to wrap as time allows.
  • Stock up supplies- you don’t want to run out of tape or tags at the last minute.
  • Think outside the box- kids can stamp paper lunch bags for small gifts, tissue paper with holiday stickers can be used to wrap gifts like CD’s and DVD’s.  Use construction paper cut with scrapbooking scissors as gift tags or take construction paper and trace holiday shapes from cookie cutters to make gift tags.
  • When wrapping with gift wrap, don’t rush.  Don’t ballpark and guess how much it will take to cover a specific gift.  It is worth it to measure so you can cut down on wasted paper.
  • Don’t forget that some stores offer free gift boxes and/or free gift wrapping when you purchase gifts there.
